Delhi a metropolitan city of today, has had a glorious past, which are inclusive of wonderful monuments, each telling a story of its own. These age-old monuments have witnessed the changes which have come in the culture and the lifestyle of the capital city of the country that is visited by tourists from all around the world. The old Delhi is one location that nestled a number of such age-old monuments. During the past centuries too, Delhi has been the hot seat of politics of various dynasties where the rulers in different times got built various monuments as per the architecture of their culture. One such location is Mehrauli Archaeological Park, which is well-known as Jamali Kamali. It has ruins of early medieval times up to the 19th century.
Now -a –days, heritage walks are organized mainly for creating awareness. Since the main purpose is to create awareness about these heritage buildings, such walks are organized during the weekends, in day time as there is no or little traffic trouble during the early hours of the day. Heritage walks are attended by school children, businessmen, office goers, businessmen and everyone else who has an interest in knowing the stories of these monuments. It is advisable that since one has to walk a lot, one should wear comfortable shoes and also carry a water bottle. One must also take care that during walks, one might also has to visit religious sites, so one must try to avoid wearing short clothes.
