Delhi, the capital city of India, is not only the hot seat of politics in the present times but it has been so, from the past many centuries. It has been ruled by the kings of many dynasties which have brought their own religion, culture and most of all their architecture with them. Behind the cemented buildings of today, there are hidden centuries old monuments too, built during different times. Although largely ignore, but one who visits these buildings can surely witness the architectural marvel of the olden days. One such area nestled in the heart of the old part of the city is Nizamuddin. Every year, heritage walks are organized so that awareness can be created about the historic importance of this place.
Such heritage walks are generally organized on weekends during the day time (less of traffic hassle) so that more and more people can join in, office goers, businessmen, school children etc . Everyone who has an interest in knowing about the history of such monuments can be a part of such walks. While you are planning to go in such a heritage walk, then it is important that you should carry a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes, since you have to walk a lot. Try to avoid short clothes but carry something to cover your head, as your walk might include a visit to a religious site.
